The Romance

Antony and Cleopatra's romance started as a alliance between Egypt and Rome against Caesar's assassins  Cleopatra seduced Antony and they fell in love. Antony  left his second wife Fluvia to spend the summer after their meeting in Alexandria with Cleopatra. After he left Cleopatra gave birth to twins which she named Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene. Antony had to marry Octavian's sister in order to seal their peace treaty. The two however met again and reunited as lovers. The two had another child. Cleopatra named him Potemy Philladelphos in order to ensure his ability to carry on with the ruling of Egypt after her death. Upon Antony;s return to Rome he was ripped of his titles. The senate declared war on Cleopatra. Though the two fought hard Antony and Cleopatra were defeated by Octavian's forces. Cleopatra fled to Egypt. Antony, upon hearing rumors of Cleopatra's suicide killed himself just as news of the rumor's falsity arrived. When she heard of Antone's death Cleopatra committed suicide herself and was buried along side Antony.
